The Kazakhstan Schoolgirls National Championships celebrated 15 new champions in Kostanay

The Kazakhstan Schoolgirls National Championships featured in the city of Kostanay, North Kazakhstan region where altogether 179 young talents from the 2009 and 2010 age groups competed in the 15 weight categories of the national event.

The city of Kostanay hosted several competitions in the previous one year, including the Miroshnichenko Junior Memorial, the Kostanay Coaches Memorial, the Junior National Championships, the Women’s National Championships and other events.

Nineteen teams and all of the regions of Kazakhstan, the three main cities such as Astana, Almaty and Shymkent sent their best schoolgirls to Kostanay. The Almaty region sent 21 young girls to the Schoolgirls National Championships

The Kostanay region topped the medal standings with their three gold medals on home soil and continued their amazing year in Kazakhstan. The Turkestan region, the Dzhambul region, the Karagandy region and the Almaty region all achieved two titles in the Schoolgirls National Championships. Almaty city, the Pavlodar region, Shymkent city and the Ulutau region each bagged one title in Kostanay.

The Turkestan region’s talents such as Uklimay Musalim and Aruzhan Tilabay earned the titles in the smallest weight categories. Aruzhan Bakhytbek won three out of her four contests by RSC at the 40kg in Kostanay where she was also confident in the final against Kazyna Berikbay.

Almaty region’s Ainura Akparzhan had a tough job against Viktoriya Bishler of Pavlodar region at the 43kg final.  Balym Gabytkyzy is only a 13-year-old talent from the promising Ulutau region and she achieved her team’s best result taking the title of the 46kg weight class against Takhmina Sagymbek of Aktobe.

Record number of 24 boxers competed at the 52kg weight class and a local girl, Dilnaz Sabyr won the title of the category. Karagandy region’s siblings, Ayaulym Ospanova (55kg) and Kamilla Ospanova (67kg) both dominated their weight classes in Kostanay. Madina Nurmanova (61kg), Diana Nadyrbek (70kg) and Valeriya Nikiforova (+70kg) all proved their talents in the national event.

The Kazakhstan Schoolgirls National Championships was a preparation and selection event for the upcoming ASBC Asian Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships.
