IBA ranking points up for grabs in ASBC elite tilt

With the launch of the new IBA ranking system, Asian boxers have a big chance to climb the ladder as the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships 2022 stakes hefty ranking points.

Gold medalists in Amman, Jordan will earn 1200 points while silver and bronze winners will get 900 and 700 IBA ranking points, respectively.

Points are not limited to podium finishers as the fifth placers will take 400, seventh placers 300, Round of 16 finishers 150 and Round of 32 participants 50.

Each bout won, meanwhile, will grant 25 points.

Asian pugs, especially those currently within the top 10, are expected to improve their standings in their respective weight divisions in the IBA world ranking at the conclusion of the Asian Elite Championships.

Hostilities in the continental meet will fire off on November 1, with the finals set on November 11 and 12.
