Tashiyev, Rustambek Uulu, Muydinkhudjayev take golds in Arziyev Brothers tilt
Top fighters Zhantoro Tashiyev, Nuradin Rustambek Uulu and Asadkhudja Muydinkhudjayev lorded over their respective weight divisions in the 11th Arziyev Brothers Tournament held recently in the history Kyrgyz city of Osh.
AIBA Youth World Championships 2021 bronze medalist Tashiyev thrashed Mirzokhid Imamnazarov in the light welterweight (63.5kg) final and boosted his bid to represent Kyrgyzstan in the upcoming ASBC Asian Elite Championships 2022.
Former Asian youth champion Rustambek routed his Kyrgyz teammates Eldar Turdubayev and Sabyrbek Talantbek Uulu to grab the light middleweight (71kg) title.
World Championships 2021 bet Muydinkhudjayev made a successful comeback from injury as he spearheaded Uzbekistan’s three-gold haul by dominating the welterweight (67kg) class.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan’s Rio Olympian Erkin Adylbek Uulu punched his way to the light heavyweight (80kg) gold even as another veteran Mirlan Turkbay Uulu emerged atop the flyweight (51kg) division.
Named after Kyrgyz boxing legends Abduvali and Nurgazy Arziyev, the tournament served as one of the final selection and preparation events for this year’s Asian Elite Championships set on October 30 to November 13 in Amman, Jordan.
