ASBC President Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira sends his sincere condolences to Mr. Rogelio Fortaleza’s family
The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira of Thailand, furthermore the whole ASBC management send their sincere condolences to Philippines’ Rogelio Fortaleza’s family following the boxing official passed away at the age of 62 due to a lingering illness.
As a boxer he achieved silver medals at the 1977 Southeast Asian Games and at the 1979 ASEAN Amateur Boxing Championships. He became later the first AIBA 3-star Referee & Judge in the Philippines and sports coordinator in the Philippine Sports Commission. Mr. Rogelio Fortaleza worked as Secretary General of the Association of Boxing Alliances of the Philippines (ABAP) in the past.
The Asian Boxing Confederation sends its deepest sympathies to his family. ASBC will remember to his great personality, happiness, attitude to the sport, success in boxing and his support of our beloved sport too. His brothers as Ricardo, Reynaldo and Reynato were also boxers in the 1970s and 1980s.
Mr. Rogelio Fortaleza is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemarie, and children Renzanne, Reygel and Edrian.
May his soul will rest in eternal peace in the Philippines.
