ASBC Schoolboys Boxing Championships competitor Dursunov won his first bout at the Bishkek City Junior Championships
The Bishkek City Junior Championships began with sixteen contests in the capital city of the Kyrgyz Republic. The venue of the junior competition is the JFC Boxing Gym and all of clubs from Bishkek are attending in the first Kyrgyz event of the year 2021. ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships quarter-finalist Mukhamed Dursunov started with a triumph in the first competition day.
Altogether 90 male boxers are attending in the Bishkek City Junior Championships from the 42kg category up to the heavyweight (+80kg). The light bantamweight (52kg) is the most popular category with the participation of fifteen talents but the featherweight (57kg) is also crowded in the Bishkek competition.
Kyrgyz Boxing Federation’s first national competition in 2021 will be the Junior National Championships which is scheduled to be held in the month of March and the Bishkek event is one of the regional selection for that. Boxers who were born in 2005 and in 2006 are eligible to attend in the Bishkek City Junior Championships.
Family sport’s Albert Baktybekov is one of the favourites at the light bantamweight (52kg) and opened his campaign well enough against Kozhomkul’s Sanzhar Ulan Uulu in the Bishkek City Junior Championships. The 15-year-old talent will be boxing in the quarter-finals with Nurmyrza Kanybekov who eliminated Askat Tabylbekov in another preliminary bout of the first session.
Spartak’s Kutman Sapanov bowed out Tartuga’s Amantur Mamatzhanov in the first preliminary round and proved strong developments. Sapanov will now meet in the quarter-finals with Rasul Kamilov at the featherweight (57kg) which could be an exciting battle between the two youngsters. Ene-Say’s Myrzabek Zhusupov also advanced to the quarter-finals of this busy weight category.
Musa Tekeyev eliminated Daniel Erkinbayev in the first round of the lightweight (60kg) and his second rival will be Zhyldyzbek Zholbors Uulu in the junior event. Belek’s ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships quarter-finalist 15-year-old Mukhamed Dursunov defeated Bear Den’s Anatoliy Krivonosov at the middleweight (75kg) and will now meet with Nikita Kuznetsov in the next stage. The Kyrgyz Junior National Championships will be their next big event which is scheduled to take place in the month of March.
