Two teenagers as Daniyal Sabit and Makhmud Sabyrkhan defeated more experienced rivals in the finals of the Kazakhstan Men’s Elite National Championships
The stars of the world have done impressive contests in the finals of the Kazakhstan Men’s Elite National Championships where 10 champions have been crowned in the city of Shymkent. Two teenagers won the smallest weight categories in the event, Daniyal Sabit and Makhmud Sabyrkhan while many of their stars claimed the gold medals in Shymkent.
Kazakhstan earned maximum number of eight male quota places for the Tokyo Olympic Games through the Asian & Oceanian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event. Among their eight quota holders five achieved the titles in the Kazakhstan Men’s Elite National Championships in Shymkent.
All of their top boxers are attending to attend in the National Championships which will be a great comeback for them after eight months of trainings without any events. Shymkent is located in the Southern part of the country in the valley of the Sayram River near to the border of Uzbekistan and famous of its boxing schools.
Altogether 94 women and 196 men boxers attended in the Kazakhstan Elite National Championships in Shymkent. The competition was the first ever unified Kazakhstan National Championships for both genders in Shymkent while some of the spectators are approved also to follow the bouts.
The first gold medal was achieved by 18-year-old Daniyal Sabit
The top favourite of the light flyweight (48kg) former ASBC Asian Champion Temirtas Zhussupov dominated all of the previous national events in Kazakhstan. The 32-year-old boxer met in the final of the smallest weight category with Daniyal Sabit who has got tiny international experiences yet. The 18-year-old Sabit exceeded all of the previous expectations in Shymkent and defeated his veteran rival winning the bout unanimously.
Super talented 19-year-old Makhmud Sabyrkhan defeated the Tokyo Olympian Saken Bibossynov at the flyweight (52kg)
Shymkent’s Makhmud Sabyrkhan achieved his first Asian title as a junior boxer in Puerto Princesa three years ago and after that he claimed two gold medals in the ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships in Bangkok and in Ulaanbaatar. The 19-year-old boxer had the realistic chance to beat AIBA World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Saken Bibossynov who qualified already to the Tokyo Olympic Games. Sabyrkhan had unpredictable footwork in their final and defeated his experienced rival in Shymkent.
Tokyo Olympian Serik Temirzhanov became the No.1 at the featherweight (57kg)
Pavlodar’s Serik Temirzhanov won the titles at the 2016 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships and at the 2019 Bocskai Memorial Tournament. The head coach of the national team Mr. Galymbek Kenzhebayev selected his to attend at the Asian & Oceanian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event where be bagged a quota for the Olympic Games. Temirzhanov was the main favourite for the gold medal at the featherweight (57kg) and he realized his objective after beating Orazbek Assylkulov.
Ablaikhan Zhussupov defeated his top rival at the welterweight (69kg)
One of the most anticipated contests in the Kazakhstan National Championships have been held at the welterweight (69kg) in Shymkent. Two-time AIBA World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Ablaikhan Zhussupov faced with Jakarta 2018 Asian Games silver medallist Aslanbek Shymbergenov. Both boxers are in the Top10 in the world and won more than 90% of their recent international contests. The younger Zhussupov used a fantastic rhythm against his taller opponent and won his next national title in Kazakhstan.
Stars as Abilkhan Amankul and Bekzad Nurdauletov won the next two finals
Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships silver medallist Abilkhan Amankul is one of the best middleweight (75kg) boxers in the globe who had an impressive dominancy over Atyrau region’s 20-year-old Nurkanat Raiys in the final. The defending AIBA World Champion at the light heavyweight (81kg) Bekzad Nurdauletov had a strong final opponent, AIBA Youth World Champion 20-year-old Nurbek Oralbay but he managed to win that impressive battle in Shymkent.
Aibek Oralbay and Kamshybek Kunkabayev won the last two finals
Nurbek’s twin brother, Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games winner Aibek Oralbay is only 20 but he has strong international experiences. The heavyweight (91kg) boxer met with two-time ASBC Asian Youth Champion 19-year-old Sagyndyk Togambay in a crucial battle. Aibek Oralbay won two out of the three rounds on the scorecards and celebrated an impressive triumph in Shymkent. The title of the super heavyweight (+91kg) was achieved by two-time AIBA World Boxing Championships silver medallist Kamshybek Kunkabayev who defeated Nurlan Saparbay in the final.
