Pakistan Boxing Federation starts its boxing activities and scheduled the upcoming National Championships
Pakistan Boxing Federation starts its boxing activities after Covid-19 environment with training camps and national events. Their best elite boxers and coaches returned to their training sessions under protective measures and safety protocols. Their first national events this year are scheduled to be held in November and in December.
The management of the Pakistan Boxing Federation is planning to hold their National Youth Boxing Championships in November which could be the first selection for them before the 2021 ASBC and AIBA events. The Pakistan National Elite Boxing Championships is planning to be held in December and its venue is still under negotiation.
Pakistan competed in the Asian & Oceanian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event in Amman, Jordan this March but their boxers were not able to get quota places for the Tokyo Olympic Games yet. Pakistan attended with three boxers in Amman, Syed Muhammad Asif (52kg), Gul Zaib (69kg) and Mehmood Ul Hassan (75kg) were their team members.
Pakistan’s boxing coach Mr. Arshad Hussain and his team are fully focusing to their last chance the World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event which is planning to be held in Paris, France on May 2021. Pakistan was not able to qualify any boxers to the Games since the Athens 2004 Olympics therefore the management of the Pakistan Boxing Federation including their President Mr. Muhammad Khalid Mahmood and Secretary General Mr. Nasir Ijaz Tung are supporting the team to reach their goal.
Their previous top national event, the final results of the Pakistan Open Shadowboxing & Fitness Tournament are revealed a few weeks ago which was their main activity during the difficult summer period. The winners celebrated their titles in seven different categories including such experienced boxers as Syed Muhammad Asif, Commonwealth Games hope Sana Ullah, Asian Games competitor Razia Bano and ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships quarter-finalist Ahmed Jawad.
