Asif, Sana Ullah, Bano and Jawad are among the winners of the Pakistan Open Shadowboxing & Fitness Tournament
The final results of the Pakistan Open Shadowboxing & Fitness Tournament are revealed by the Secretary General of the Pakistan Boxing Federation Mr. Nasir Ijaz Tung. The winners celebrated their titles in seven different categories including such experienced boxers as Syed Muhammad Asif, Commonwealth Games hope Sana Ullah, Asian Games competitor Razia Bano and ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships quarter-finalist Ahmed Jawad.
The final jury under the Chairman of the Referee & Judge Commission of the Pakistan Boxing Federation decided the medallists of the Pakistan Open Shadowboxing & Fitness Tournament. The scorings were based on combinations of attacking and defensive boxing techniques and the style of the punches.
Among the elite male boxers, Pakistan’s two experienced 26-year-old high hopes Syed Muhammad Asif and Mehmood Sana Ullah both got 9.5 points from the final jury and won the category together. Pakistan’s best female boxer, Jakarta 2018 Asian Games competitor Razia Bano of Karachi earned the highest scorings in the women’s elite level of the Pakistan Open Shadowboxing & Fitness Tournament.
Ghulam Abbas of Quetta was slightly better than Zakir Hussain in the men’s youth level while another boxer from Quetta, Malaika dominated the women’s youth age group. Pakistan’s strong future hope, ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships quarter-finalist Ahmed Jawad ranked as No.1 among the men junior boxers ahead of Peshawar’s Sameer Kamal Khan. The winner among the junior girls was Hadia Kamal Khan of Peshawar while Haider Club’s Muhammad Hadi won the schoolboy category of the challenge.
More than 450 female and male participants sent their videos to the Pakistan Boxing Federation in the recent weeks and attended in the competition. All of the age groups from the young kids up to the elites have been covered during the project of the Pakistan Open Shadowboxing & Fitness Tournament.
The successful project could involve also all regions of the country including Baluchistan which was a difficult area of Pakistan in the recent years. Both genders attended in the Pakistan Open Shadowboxing & Fitness Tournament in the previous weeks to inspire the country’s sport life. Pakistan’s developments in women’s boxing is significant following the management of the Federation arranged sources for them.
The participants had to send their 45-60 seconds videos through Messenger on Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) page and Instagram. The participants had to add to the videos their name, age, category, city, association, mobile numbers and achievements. The following hashtags need to be added to their videos: #POSBFC #PBF. The videos for Fitness Test were not longer than 90-120 seconds.
