Tajikistan’s next generation as Kosimova, Kholova, Yokubov, Saidov and Boltayev advanced to the finals of their Nationals

The semi-finals were held in the Tajikistan Elite National Boxing Championships which is the only active competition in the whole Asian continent. Tajikistan’s young talents such as Sumaiya Kosimova, Idimokh Kholova, Abdurakhmon Yokubov, Akhmadjon Saidov and Davlat Boltayev all advanced to the finals.

There are not any Covid-19 Coronavirus infections in Tajikistan therefore their National Federation did not stop their planned national events. Boxers who were born between 1980 and 2001 are eligible to attend in the Tajikistan Elite National Boxing Championships which is their next selection competition for the later international actions.

Tajikistan’s reigning ASBC Asian Champion Bakhodur Usmonov (63kg) and FISU University World Champion Shabbos Negmatulloev (81kg) both qualified for the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games through the Amman competition. Both qualified boxers received the right to rest in their Tajikistan Elite National Boxing Championships.

The dream final of the women’s flyweight (51kg) has realized following Dushanbe’s ASBC Asian Women’s Boxing Championships competitor Sumaiya Kosimova and Rukhafzo Khaknazarova advanced to the title bout in the National Championships. Both boxers dominated their semi-finals over Saidkul Idimokhi of Bokhtar and Khusniya Kholova of Khatlon region.

Dushanbe’s Mizhgona Samadova won important international competitions in the recent two years therefore she was too strong for Fotima Meliboyeva in the semi-finals of the women’s featherweight (57kg) and will be meeting with Madinai Abdulkholikzoda. ASBC Asian Women’s Boxing Championships bronze medallist Shoira Zulkaynarova eliminated Mavluda Asadova and will be facing for the gold of the lightweight (60kg) with Shakhlo Rakhimova.

Dushanbe’s Nilufar Boboyorova was quarter-finalist in the 2019 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and she can box for the title of the welterweight (69kg) with ASBC Asian Women’s Youth Boxing Championships silver medallist Idimokh Kholova. Farzona Karimova and Farzona Shoymurodova advanced to the finals of the women’s middleweight (75kg) following their successes over Mavluda Odinayeva and Nodira Karimova.

Mukhammad Abdusamadzoda and Emomali Rakhmon both claimed medals in the recent editions of the Tajikistan Youth National Championships and now they are finalists at the flyweight (52kg) in the Elite Nationals. Khatlon’s Bakhtovar Sagizov represented Tajikistan in top events who had a tough fight against Youth National Champion Voris Makhmudov at the men’s featherweight (57kg) which means he can meet for the title with Abdullo Sharipov.

ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships competitor Abdurakhmon Yokubov of Sughd region eliminated Elchibek Niyozmamadov and will be meeting for the gold of the lightweight (63kg) with Shukrat Salomatov. Tajikistan had few difficulties at the welterweight (69kg) in the recent years but both of the new finalists as Shokhrukh Oganazarov and Saidikrom Amonov are quality boxers.

AIBA World Boxing Championships competitor Bakhtiyar Mirzomukhammed had enough experiences since 2010 to beat Shorukh Nozimov in the semi-finals of the middleweight (75kg). AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Akhmadjon Saidov of Dushanbe bowed out Faridun Shokhnazarov of Khatlon and will be boxing with Nekruz Sharipov in the final of the light heavyweight (81kg).

Dushanbe’s Davlat Boltayev is the defending National Champion at the heavyweight (91kg) and following his success over Jaloliddin Mukhammadi of Khatlon, he can defend his throne over a returning boxer Jasur Qurbonov. His elder brother former Asian Games winner Jakhon Qurbonov returned at the super heavyweight (+91kg) and defeated Youth National Champion Mukhammad Abroridinov therefore he can box for the gold with experienced national team member Siyovush Zukhurov.
