5 days left to the start to the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Puerto Princesa
There are still 5 days to the start to the upcoming ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships which will be held in Palawan which is a picturesque island in the Philippines and its biggest city Puerto Princesa will be hosting the forthcoming junior continental event in August 1-7.
Following the registrations for the 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships record numbers of boxers are planning to compete in Puerto Princesa. The local organizers can expect the participation of more than 140 junior boxers from each regions of the Asian continent.
The top boxing nations of the Asian continent such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India, Thailand, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan all will be there with big delegations in Puerto Princesa. Bhutan, Iraq, Nepal, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan also registered their squads to the upcoming ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships.
Kazakhstan’s Beybars Zheksen, Uzbekistan’s Asadkhudja Muydinkhodjayev, India’s Selay Soy and Philippines’ Criz Russu Laurente could be the main stars of the event. New champions will be crowned in Puerto Princesa who could be Asia’s new heroes in the future events such as the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
The ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships will be held in the 13 official men’s weight classes: 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and +80kg. Boxers who were born in 2001 and in 2002 are eligible to take part in the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships.
The island of Palawan is famous of its underground river, its beautiful beaches, rice paddies, eco tourism and other natural attractions. Puerto Princesa hosted the 2004 edition of the Asian Boxing Championships which was a qualification event for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. Philippines hosted also the 2013 edition of the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships with success.
